Are radar detectors illegal?
Radar detectors are illegal only in Virginia, Washington DC, and most parts of Canada.
What is the range of radar detectors?
In flat, open conditions the range is at least 1 miles. Please note that road conditions (hills and curves) can affect the range.
If you have a metal sunscreen film on your glass, it will absorb or reflect weak radar waves, which will also affect the range.
Why isn’t my detector always detecting police cars?
Your detector will only detect a police car if the car has a radar gun, and if the gun is turned on. If the police car does not have a radar gun, or if the radar gun is not turned on, then there are no signals for your detector to receive.
Why am I getting shorter range?
Please make sure that your detector is mounted at the windshield, and that it has a clear view down the road. Make sure it is not blocked by a windshield wiper.
Why is the device not working at all?
All the frequency bands on the machine (including K,KA,X) can be turned off, you press two keys at the same time, you will hear a bi sound, indicating that the frequency band is closed, press the two keys at the same time again, hear two bibi sounds, the frequency band will work normally.
Although most police cars use Ka-band radars, there are still some law enforcement measures that cannot be detected by radar detectors. The Karadar S360 can cover the mainstream speed measurement methods, but it cannot handle all situations 100%. Safe driving is fundamental!
1. Police Use “Instant-On” (Quick Trigger) Radar
Officers don’t leave radar guns on continuously. Instead, they briefly activate them just as you approach, giving your detector little to no warning.
By the time your detector alerts, they’ve already clocked your speed.
2. Laser (LIDAR) is Hard to Detect Early
Unlike radar, which spreads out, laser beams are pinpoint-focused on your car.
Your detector only alerts when hit directly, meaning you get no advance warning—just an alert that you’ve already been targeted.
3. Police Aren’t Using Radar or Laser at All
They may be using visual pacing (matching your speed from behind).
Some use airplane speed traps (VASCAR) or speed cameras, which don’t emit detectable signals.
Choose the best which you need . The main difference between them is that the accessories and brands are different. You can choose the ones you need.
This is a professional-grade Mobile Radar Detector
Detecting radar from moving police vehicles (patrol car radar). Intercepting signals from handheld radar guns used by officers. Identifying temporarily deployed radar (e.g., tripod setups or speed traps).
However, it CANNOT provide alerts for the following:
Fixed speed and red-light cameras (e.g., intersection cameras, speed-on-green cameras). Point-to-point / average speed camera systems (start and end points). Any non-radar based surveillance (these require GPS database alerts).
If you are looking for:
“A device that warns me about every fixed red-light and speed camera.”
Then the S360 IS NOT suitable for you. We advise caution before purchasing. Please consider a GPS-based dash cam or a detector with built-in camera database updates.
